Password Management

Secure Your Account
Change your account password with current password verification. Set a strong password with at least 8 characters to protect your account and your pharmacy's sensitive data.

Password Management allows you to change your account password to maintain security. PharmaSync requires your current password before setting a new one, ensuring only you (or someone you've authorized) can change your account credentials.

Password Requirements

  • Minimum Length
  • Character Variety (Recommended)
  • Avoid Common Passwords
  • Don't Reuse Passwords

Changing Your Password

1

Access Password Management

Navigate to Account Settings by clicking your profile avatar in the top-right corner and selecting 'Profile' or 'Account Settings'. Scroll to the 'Password Management' or 'Security' section of the page. Click the 'Change Password' button. This opens a secure modal dialog for password change (doesn't navigate away from the page).

2

Enter Current Password

In the 'Change Password' modal dialog: The first field is 'Current Password'. Enter your existing password exactly as it is (password fields are case-sensitive). This verification ensures only someone who knows the current password can change it. If you don't remember your current password, close the dialog and use the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page instead.

3

Enter New Password

In the 'New Password' field: Enter your desired new password (minimum 8 characters). As you type, real-time validation shows: Password strength indicator (Weak, Fair, Good, Strong), Character count, Requirements checklist (minimum length met, variety of characters - if applicable). Choose a strong password: Mix of letters, numbers, and symbols, Avoid dictionary words, personal information (name, birthday), or common patterns. Make it memorable but not guessable.

4

Confirm New Password

In the 'Confirm New Password' field: Re-enter your new password exactly as you typed it in the previous field. This double-entry prevents typos from locking you out. As you type, validation checks if both entries match: Green checkmark if passwords match, Red error message if they don't match. Ensure both fields show identical values before proceeding.

5

Submit Password Change

After entering current password, new password, and confirmation: Review that new password fields match (green checkmark visible). Click 'Change Password', 'Update Password', or 'Save' button in the modal. System validates: Current password is correct, New password meets minimum requirements (8+ characters), New password and confirmation match. If validation passes: Success message appears ('Password changed successfully'), Modal closes automatically, You remain logged in with new password. If validation fails: Error message explains the issue ('Current password incorrect', 'Passwords don't match', etc.), Correct the error and try again.
